2023 ELEMENTARY TOURNAMENT FORMAT

• Weight Classes (no allowance):
  • 11 & under (born on or after 8/31/11): 55-60-65-70-75-80-85-90-95-105-120-HWT (max 160)
  • 8 & under (born on or after 8/31/14): 45-50-55-60-65-HWT (max 80) 
• Brackets will be double elimination or round robin, depending on the size of the weight class.
• Champions will receive custom championship belts and 2nd through 4th places are awarded medals. (no challenges for "true" 2nd). We will still wrestle to 6th place.
• Elementary School division will be held on Sunday beginning at 8 am, and run on 6-8 mats.
• We anticipate the tournament ending around 4-5 pm on Sunday, based on previous years, but cannot give an exact time.
• 2-1-1 periods (Championship); 1-1-1 (Consolation)
• Folkstyle (Scholastic)
• Due to time constraints, any matches that go into overtime will use 1 minute sudden death overtime, if no score, followed by tiebreaker rideout (first to score in regulation gets choice) 
• College out-of-bounds rules will be used
• Headgear is required for the Elementary School Division. Mouth guards are required for wrestlers with braces.
• Nails must be clipped
• Hair length is not an issue, but there can be no hard items in the hair (beads, bobby pins, barrettes, hair clips, etc...) nor can there be any hair treatments that are oily, greasy or slippery. If an individual wishes to wear a hair cover, it must be legal and attach properly to the headgear.
• Facial hair length is not an issue. If an individual wishes to wear a mask, it must be legal.
• Singlets are required for weigh-ins
• Certified officials will be used from many different states
