2023 GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • FREESTYLE, with two 2-minute periods
  • *NEW for 2023!* Weight Classes (no allowance!): 95, 100, 106, 112, 118, 124, 132, 138, 148, 160, 175, 200
  • Challenges will be allowed for the championship semifinals and finals matches
  • Brackets will be double elimination, with wrestlebacks to 6th place
  • Champions will receive custom championship belts and 2nd through 4th places are awarded medals. 
  • Wrestling will begin Sunday morning at 8:00 am. We do not have an anticipated end time but we will wrestle straight through the day until completion.  In 2022, the tournament ended around 4:30 pm.
  • For grades 9-12. (7th & 8th graders may also compete, but you may only compete in one division; ie, you may not compete in both the Girls Division and the High School Division, or both the Girls and the Middle School Divisions)
  • Seeding will be done by committee and primarily determined by performance in state and national level events
  • Certified officials will be used from many different states 
  • Minimum rest time between matches is 15 minutes
  • Headgear is recommended but not required
  • Nails must be clipped
  • Hair length is not an issue, but there can be no hard items in the hair (beads, bobby pins, barrettes, hair clips, etc...) nor can there be any hair treatments that are oily, greasy or slippery. If an individual wishes to wear a hair cover, it must be legal and attach properly to the headgear.
  • Facial hair length is not an issue. If an individual wishes to wear a mask, it must be legal.
  • Singlets are required for weigh-ins
  • Mouth guards are required for wrestlers with braces
